Kang Ya-Chu,Liu Feng-Ling,Li Chen-Ling Women Exhibition

This exhibition features three artists who excel in using fiber as their primary medium of artistic expression.

Among them is Kang Ya-Chu, who was recently nominated for the Taishin Arts Award. Kang presents a series of textile works that intertwine historical facts with the imagination of contemporary spaces. Through this interplay, she reexamines historical and social events, juxtaposing Taiwan’s natural and cultural landscapes with the global history of cotton.

Liu Feng-Ling employs a combination of techniques such as embroidery, painting, and hand-rubbing. By accumulating “quantities” of manual gestures to achieve a “qualitative” transformation, Liu’s works explore the relationship between life experiences and the spatial-temporal environment.

Li Chen-Ling, known for her woven artworks, has achieved significant breakthroughs in subject matter and form over the past two years. Using “frogs” as her visual protagonists, she adopts a humorous, anthropomorphic approach, blending fashion themes with a cartoon-like style. This infuses her works with greater imaginative possibilities, showcasing a more diverse perspective on fiber art.
