The Poetry of Landscapes

Kuo Chih-Hung,Kuo Chih-Hung,Hsu Sheng-Hung Group Exhibition

We are excited to share with you the new exhibition at Galerie Pierre, “The Poetry of Landscapes”, featuring works by artists Kuo Chih-Hung, Huang Pin-Ling, and Hsu Sheng-Hung. Each artist employs distinct forms of expression to depict landscapes drawn from memory.

Kuo Chih-Hung, who once lived in Germany, uses an abstract painting style to capture the elegance of Taiwan’s mountain ranges. Centering his work on the theme of “mountains,” he brings a fresh perspective, elevating his understanding of mountains to a study of the essence of painting itself.

Kuo Chih-Hung, having spent several years in France, presents works largely inspired by dreams. Her use of pink-toned palettes and ambiguous spatial layers mirrors the hazy impressions of dreams. By projecting past emotions and thoughts, she transforms fragments of memory into landscape imagery.

Hsu Sheng-Hung integrates knowledge from geology and geography into his creative process. Initially focusing on glacial landscapes as metaphors, his intuitive brushstrokes and deliberate color choices evolved into conscious experimentation with painting materials. Through layering, scraping, and varying brushwork, he deconstructs and reassembles forms, offering insights into his observations of the living environment and his perspectives on time and memory.
