Point and Line to Plane

Tao Kang ‧ Hu Light ‧ Chang Hsien-Wen Group Exhibition

As the scorching summer nears its end and the season shifts, Galerie Pierre is excited to share the group exhibition “Point and Line to Plane” featuring three artists—Tao Kang, Hu Light, and Chang Hsien-Wen—each presenting different creative approaches to express rational and emotional visual experiences through points, lines, and planes.

Tao Kang: The black-and-white minimalist compositions conceal intricate circular dots within seemingly simple shapes. These elements evoke small life forms scattered against the vastness of mountains and waters, presenting calm tones and subtle textures that invite viewers to enter and experience the work themselves.

Hu Light: Her paintings often oscillate between abstraction and figuration, using uniquely shaped lines to interpret the rhythmic forces of the universe. Through the extension, compression, and movement of lines, she depicts emotions that seem calm on the surface but are stirring beneath.

Chang Hsien-Wen: The cold rationality of geometry is transformed into a multidimensional visual experience that creates optical illusions, generating virtual spaces. This connection to the senses and past experiences brings forth a familiar sense of nostalgia, guiding the viewer into a whirlpool of memory, exploring unknown boundaries and fields.
