In order to raise the standard of pollution prevention at construction sites and continue to promote technological prevention measures, the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Taichung City Government organized the “Excellent Construction Sites Evaluation” in 113 years, and after evaluation by the members of the committee, a total of three exceptionally good and seven excellent construction sites were selected, and in order to recognize their outstanding performance in the prevention of pollution at construction sites and in environmental protection, the awards were presented to the owners and contractors of the construction sites on 11th November, to commend their outstanding performance in environmental management and application of science and technology. The awards were presented to site owners and contractors in recognition of their outstanding performance in environmental management and application of technology.
According to the EPA, the evaluation focused on the application of technology for pollution prevention, including the installation of air quality sensors, noise sensors, automatic sprinkler systems, and regular autonomous feedback on the setup of pollution prevention measures at the construction site, etc. These means can effectively minimize the impact of the construction site on the environment. These technological measures can effectively minimize the impact of construction sites on the environment, demonstrating Taichung City's achievements in environmental protection and construction.
In addition to the automatic sprinkler and dust AI system, the site that won the award has further introduced other environmental technology, such as the Taichung District Prosecutor's Office of the halls and houses of the unified contracting project has a panoramic time-lapse photography of the site, in order to facilitate the monitoring of the entire site at any time to ensure that there is no pollution. In the new construction project of Taichung Dome Stadium organized by Taichung Municipal Government Sports Bureau, solar energy storage panels were installed on the roof of the office of the Public Works Department, and as of November 30, 113, the power generation was 78,731kwh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 4,157 kilograms, and the sedimentation tank uses two-stage filtration and sedimentation, and recycles and reuses the filtered water resources.
Treasure Dragon's love gendii Residence “Leading the Industry” has become a model for the industry with its comprehensive technological preventive measures, such as the use of special aluminum system formwork to reduce the generation of construction waste, the installation of RFP anti-mosquito and anti-odor covers in gutters for the prevention of dengue fever, and the LED display of the environmental monitoring values.
Ms. Lily Chang, President of Treasure Dragon , the awardee of the award, shared that in the early days, pollution prevention in construction sites mainly relied on traditional methods, such as installing green fences to reduce dust and absorb carbon dioxide to minimize the impact on the environment. However, with the increase in environmental awareness, measures such as sprinkling to suppress dust, raising of fences, vehicle washing facilities and enclosed transportation were further introduced into the management of construction sites in order to reduce the emission of dust and exhaust gas. In recent years, technology has been gradually integrated into pollution prevention and control, including the use of AI to identify dust, the deployment of air quality micro-sensors for real-time monitoring, drone aerial inspection, and intelligent equipment to monitor emissions from construction machinery. These innovative technologies not only enhance the efficiency of pollution control, but also make environmental management more accurate and intelligent.
Mr. Chen Wang-yi, Secretary for the Environment, said that the results of the evaluation proved that pollution prevention through technological means can not only effectively reduce the environmental impact of the construction process, but also enhance the quality of life of the public. In the future, the EPB will continue to promote the application of advanced technology in more construction sites, and at the same time strengthen the counseling and management, so that environmental protection and construction can move forward in tandem. It is also predicted that the evaluation of the 114th year of the Good Construction Sites Assessment will be expanded to encourage more construction units to commit themselves to the prevention of pollution, so as to jointly create a sustainable and livable urban environment.
