To accelerate the development of Taiwan's Intelligent and sustainable building industry and to unite cross-industry forces to embrace the next generation of building trends, the Taiwan Intelligent Building Association held a business briefing for the "Build for NextGen International Sustainable Smart Building and Intelligent Building Materials Exhibition" in early April. At the beginning of the event, a press conference was held to formally announce the signing of the "Intelligent Building Strategic Alliance Cooperation Memorandum" among cross-industry associations. The association officially announced its collaboration with the "National Association of Architects of the Republic of China", the "Real Estate Association of the Republic of China", the "Architecture Association of the R.O.C", the "Taiwan Industry Association of Intelligent Security and Safety", the "Federation of the Real Estate Development Associations of the Republic of China", and the "Chinese Educational, Scientific and Cultural Innovation Development Association" to kick off the international-level architectural event in September.
This collaboration symbolizes a deep integration of real estate, architectural design, smart security, and smart building sectors, demonstrating a strong consensus across industries to jointly promote the vision of "Smart × Sustainable × NextGen" architecture. Through cross-sectoral resources and professional connections, it aims to create a key exchange platform that responds to future housing needs, promotes industrial upgrading, and facilitates sustainable urban development.
Several industry representatives were invited to speak at the press conference. Among them, Chang Lily, President of the World Federation of Real Estate Associations Taiwan and the Real Estate Association of the Republic of China, said that she was honored to represent her organization at the "Intelligent Building Strategic Alliance Cooperation Memorandum Press Conference and Exhibition Investment Promotion Meeting" and expressed her sincere respect to Wen Hsiu-Ling, Chairperson of the Taiwan Intelligent Building Association, and the entire organizing team.

President Chang Lily pointed out that, observing global real estate industry development trends, architecture is no longer just a provider of space, but also a crucial element in responding to climate change, technological advancements, and improving the quality of human life. Faced with multiple challenges such as net-zero transformation, AI technology applications, and urban renewal, future competitive architecture must simultaneously integrate smart technology, sustainable thinking, and human-centered values.
She also cited the views of Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, pointing out that the core goal of urban development lies in improving people's quality of life. The true value of smart buildings lies not only in technological innovation, but also in integrating technology and design to enable people to live more safely, healthily, conveniently, and with dignity. This strategic alliance has invited key international partners from Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand, demonstrating that smart buildings have become a core issue of common concern in the Asia-Pacific region. Through transnational cooperation and professional exchange, it will help promote technological innovation and market connections, creating a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable future for cities.
Furthermore, the Real Estate Association of the Republic of China has long encouraged the industry to prioritize building quality, innovative design, and sustainable value through the "National Outstanding Construction Award"; the World Federation of Real Estate also continues to promote the exchange and sharing of global best practices through international platforms. Looking ahead, we also look forward to deepening our cooperation with the Taiwan Smart Building Association to jointly advance the development of smart buildings and sustainable cities.
President Chang Lily concluded by saying, "Architecture is not just a building, but also a part of urban culture; wisdom is not just technology, but a way to make life better." She also wished the press conference and investment promotion meeting a complete success and the September exhibition a fruitful and grand success.

The press conference also announced a major benefit: all members of the aforementioned six public associations will enjoy the same exhibition and business attraction benefits as members of the Taiwan Intelligent Building Association; each association will also organize member delegations to visit and exchange ideas during the exhibition, further expanding industry chain connections and business opportunity matching benefits. In addition, the Asia Pacific Intelligent Building Alliance (APIGBA) will also lead its international members to Taiwan to participate, further strengthening the exhibition's international connections and influence in the Asia Pacific region.
The organizers stated that this move not only demonstrates their high regard for partners, but also aims to lower the barriers to participation through tangible incentives, thereby attracting more high-quality enterprises and professional teams to invest and jointly build the next generation of Intelligent building ecosystems.
The "Build for NextGen International Sustainable Intelligent Building & Smart Building Materials Exhibition" will be held from September 1st to 4th, 2026 at the Taipei World Trade Center. The exhibition focuses on smart buildings, sustainable design, low-carbon building materials, digital buildings, smart security and future living solutions, and combines professional forums, business matchmaking and international exchange activities to create an international-level industry platform with both forward-looking vision and practical value.
The Taiwan Intelligent Building Association stated that it will continue to work with more industry associations and domestic and international partners to connect policy, industry and market momentum through the "Build for NextGen" exhibition, inject innovative energy into Taiwan's construction industry, and work together to create a more intelligent, healthier and more sustainable future living environment.
