The inauguration ceremony of the World President, to be held in Vienna on June 12, is expected to be attended by nearly 200 representatives from Taiwan's real estate and related industries, forming a rare large-scale industry delegation, which also demonstrates the high degree of cohesion of Taiwan's industries and their ambition to actively expand internationally.
2026 marks a significant international milestone for Taiwan's real estate industry. Chang Lily, President of Treasure Dragon Construction, officially assumes the position of World President of the Federation of Real Estate Associations of the World (FIABCI), one of the world's largest real estate organizations. She becomes the first Chinese woman to hold this position, signifying that Taiwan's real estate industry has truly entered the core of international decision-making for the first time, gradually moving from an international participant to a co-promoter of global trends and values.
With members in over 85 countries worldwide, FIABCI has long played a vital role in urban development, sustainable architecture, real estate trends, and international exchange. Chang Lily's appointment as World President not only represents personal international honor but is also seen as a significant achievement culminating in years of accumulated expertise by Taiwan's construction and real estate industries.
Chang Lily stated, "This is not just my personal achievement, but the result of the collective efforts of the entire Taiwanese real estate industry. Taiwan has the ability to engage in dialogue with the world and is ready to share its experience in areas such as urban development, sustainable architecture, and lifestyle aesthetics."
Taiwan boasts high-standard engineering; the Tamsui-Kuang Bridge is one of the world's most important architectural achievements
In recent years, Taiwan's visibility in the international architecture and engineering field has continued to rise. The Tamsui-Koh Bridge, designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate Zaha Hadid's team, was recently selected as one of CNN's "Most Important Buildings in the World in 2025," drawing international attention once again to Taiwan's strength in public works and architectural aesthetics. Industry experts believe this demonstrates that Taiwan not only possesses high-level engineering technology but is also gradually building urban development capabilities that integrate design, aesthetics, and cultural thinking.
Chang Fang-min, consultant of the Taiwan Architecture Center and general manager of Productivity Construction, pointed out that Taiwan's architectural development in recent years has gradually moved from a purely engineering-oriented approach to a new stage that "emphasizes engineering technology, lifestyle aesthetics and sustainable value in tandem." This is also an important reason why the international community has begun to see Taiwan again.

From semiconductors to construction, Taiwan is seen by the world
Chang Lily pointed out that Taiwan's international competitiveness has long transcended a single industry. From semiconductor supply chains, AI technology, and smart robots to next-generation technology industries such as drones, Taiwan is playing a key role in the global supply chain with its comprehensive manufacturing and innovation integration capabilities. When this strength extends to the fields of architecture and urban development, it also allows the world to rediscover Taiwan's quality of life and urban value.
She emphasized, "If technology allows the world to see Taiwan's speed, then architecture allows the world to see Taiwan's depth and breadth." Taiwan not only possesses world-class technology and manufacturing capabilities, but also has the strength to create a high-quality living environment and urban aesthetics. From technology and architecture to urban governance, Taiwan is gradually aligning itself with international standards and the world.

As the trends of smart buildings, green buildings, and healthy housing mature, Taiwan's construction industry is gradually upgrading towards a people-centered approach to life. Through the introduction of technologies such as smart IoT, energy-saving design, vertical greening, and healthy lighting, buildings are no longer just living spaces, but have become important carriers that respond to human needs and improve the quality of life.
Industry insiders generally believe that Chang Lily's appointment as the FIABCI World President is not only a significant historical moment for Taiwan's real estate industry, but also represents Taiwan's gradual establishment of its own international architectural language and urban values. From "connecting with the world" in the past to "standing shoulder to shoulder with the world" today, Taiwan is showcasing a deeper level of soft power to the world through architecture, urban planning, and lifestyle aesthetics.
